Brief
In 2010, Fired Earth approached CARGO to create an online store that would reflect the quality of the brand and its heritage.
The site would have to be a destination for all things interior and would be about more than just the products.
Fired Earth wanted to bring all aspects of their in-store experience to the web, which would grow to be more than just a store.
The Concept
CARGO worked with Fired Earth to create a site that not only reflected the quality and style of the brand but which also showcased the stunning imagery that was available.
With the shop as the key focus, categories were created for Tiles, Paint, Wallpaper, Bathrooms and Kitchens giving Fired Earth the opportunity to push specific ranges and new products to customers through landing pages that they could control and update through a simple content management system.
The creation of a Be Inspired area, allowed Fired Earth to share the high resolution room set imagery that was available to help customers make decisions about décor solutions. Products are easily accessed from the Be Inspired pages, providing Fired Earth with the opportunity to upsell additional products to customers as they research the options for their perfect room.
Results
The site launched on Valentine's Day 2011 - meeting the first year's target in just 3 months.
Sales have continued to grow and the introductions of bathroom ranges, which were previously only showcased online, helped to push the 2012 sales up 30% on the first year.
A range of high quality kitchen ranges and an iPad app have already been added in 2013. With plans to introduce further exclusive ranges and products as well as grow internationally, the story is only just beginning for Fired Earth's online store.
